These are recent West Chester/Liberty Rotary Club efforts to provide humanitarian aid internationally to build goodwill and better friendships and benefit all:
-    Contributed $11,000 to the Rotary International Polio Plus Program.  Rotary, along with the World Health Organization (WHO) and U.S. Center for Disease Control Prevention (CDC), has played an instrumental role in the effort to eradicate polio from the world.  The 1.2 million Rotarians worldwide have raised more than $240 Million to buy polio vaccine for the poor countries of the world.  Since 1988, worldwide cases of polio have plummeted from 35,251 to 5,186 in 1997.  Only four countries are still polio endemic - Nigeria, India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.
-    We hosted Rotary Group Study Exchange teams from Africa, India, Argentina and North Korea.

Rotary International has taken on polio eradication as its global cause. The Rotary Club of West Chester/Liberty is a contributor in that fight.
